The Leveled Escape
Cut out hill side and build retaining walls to help create a level patio space. The additional of a pavilion helps shelter the user from the brutal Texas sun but also adds a level of sophistication that was paramount to the client. Artificial turf was installed around the back yard to reduce the need to water and also offer a lush green play area for grandchildren to enjoy. Landscape lighting and native plantings help wrap this space up.
Before
Back yard was a drainage problem and not usable for the grandchildren. Client wanted a sanctuary that would offer reprieve from the Texas heat, but was also clean, sophisticated, and easy to maintain.
After
Built a retaining wall that not only helped manage the drainage issue, but also created a space that was level and became the heart of the back yard. A pavilion sits in the middle of the patio to offer shade and a communal space to be able to sit and enjoy the yard. Native plantings, and artificial turf help make this space easy to maintain while lowering water consumption tremendously.
